Well sign me up. "Well woven tale of propaganda designed to keep the masses in check", this is a fine description of gallentean democracy. Amarr religion is a world view, philosophy, way of life, cultural legacy, moral law and reason to live and love.
I don't think you understand what the word democracy means, how a government is elected has nothing to do with my personal opinion, especially one formulated outside the Federation's own propaganda system through media control. But then again you're forever clutching at straws Kim.
Let's face it, all four empires have some method of control over their citizens to keep everything running smoothly in order, it just takes a different face each time because the cultures are themselves different, but ultimately they all serve the same purpose. You're either blind or wilfully ignorant if you don't see it in action before your very eyes.
In this instance, it's religion, and enforced through the fact if you disagree with it you're a heretic, and should be eliminated. The Ministry of Internal Order are no different to the FIO's Black Eagles, except maybe with more robes and less public brutality, but ultimately they serve the same job, to quietly remove those who would challenge the political system. Let's make no mistake, who benefits the most from the Amarr faith, who has the most interest in maintaining the status quo?
It's a well designed system, the masses are kept in check by fear of being heretical if they question the way things are, and promised rewards collectable on death, in exchange for unquestionable servitude in life.
It works a lot better than the Federation's media network of "You are free" with the FIO reminding you that sentence ends with "to do as we tell you."
